A monthly support circle for widows & bereaved women. Have you lost someone you love? Do you feel that others don’t fully understand the depth of your grief? Would you benefit from gentle support? Join us for our monthly support circle, where you can meet others in a similar situation over tea and cake in a warm, welcoming space. This session Myriam Abdel-Basit will be joining us. She ia a English and Arabic speaking muslim, a registered drama therapist supporting children (5+), teenagers and adults 1:1 in-person in Central Cambridge and online, to process feelings and experiences using creative resources, alongside talking therapy.. She will be joining us to explore the different stages of grief through an Islamic lens, offering reflections on navigating loss with faith, hope, and compassion. The talk will be followed by the monthly Qur'an Khatm The Qur'an is a preserved revelation, but it is not just the message that is preserved. The transmission is preserved with immense care, such that it is a science in and of itself. Join us as we discuss the transmission of the Qur'an and the importance of correct recitation and memorisation. There will be demonstrations of common mistakes in recitation and how they should be corrected, followed by a community Qur'an Khatam during which you can read as much or as little as you can. During the evening we will also be opening applications for the Mosque's new Adult Tilawat Course, for those who want to improve the correctness of their recitation. |
