BECOME A MEMBER

Cambridge Central Mosque serves the community every day through prayer, learning and care.

Memberships enable regular support that helps maintain the House of Allah and gives your mosque the stability it needs to operate responsibly in all circumstances.

To learn more about what your regular donations cover, please see Membership Levels and Why Memberships Exist below.

To maintain the House of Allah is not simply to fund a building. It is to ensure that prayer continues, that knowledge is taught, that care is available, and that the doors of your mosque always remain open.

Those who support in maintaining their mosque share in the reward of everything that takes place within it – quietly, consistently, and often unseen. Memberships are a way of taking part in that responsibility, helping to sustain your mosque so we can serve our community in every circumstance.

Membership Levels

Membership is designed to allow you to support your mosque in a way that feels right for you. Each level contributes to maintaining the House of Allah and sustaining its work throughout the year.

For those who want to be part of keeping your mosque open, welcoming and alive.

Supporters help sustain the everyday essentials of their mosque – the prayers that continue quietly, the doors that remain open, and the care that is always available. It is a simple but powerful way to share in the reward of maintaining the House of Allah.

Why Memberships Exist

Much of the mosque’s work takes place every day and requires reliable support. Daily prayers, education, pastoral care, building maintenance and welcoming thousands of visitors each year all depend on consistent funding.

Memberships exist to provide that stability, enabling an opportunity to support your mosque in a regular and responsible way.

It currently costs approximately £500,000 per year to operate and maintain Cambridge Central Mosque at its present level. This figure represents the essential, baseline costs required to keep the mosque running.

These core costs include:

This does not reflect the full value of what the mosque delivers. Many services and activities are run sustainably and help cover their own costs, and significant work has been done to reduce expenditure wherever possible, despite rising costs across all sectors.

Memberships are therefore not about covering everything the mosque does. It is about helping meet this essential level of running costs, so the mosque remains stable and resilient. When these basics are covered, we can continue serving the community with confidence.

STABILITY, WAQF & THE FUTURE

Once our core running costs are covered, surplus funds allow the mosque to plan responsibly for the future. This includes strengthening long-term sustainability through the development of a waqf, as well as supporting outreach and community projects as needs arise.

Regular support provides the stability required not only to maintain the mosque today, but to make careful, considered decisions about how it can continue to serve the community in the years ahead.

If Cambridge Central Mosque matters to you, Memberships are a way to support it with consistency, care and intention.
