Support this groundbreaking prayer space and community hub for the diverse Muslim residents of Cambridge, as well as international visitors. Help create a space dedicated to peace and beauty!
The Cambridge Central Mosque design was inspired by both Islamic and English religious architectural traditions. Above all, we sought to develop the idea of a British mosque for the 21st century.
We’re only 15 minutes on foot from the train station or 8 minutes by bike from the city centre, while the Citi 2 bus takes 13 minutes from Emmanuel Street and stops right outside, at Vinery Road.
The Mosque is open
from 12:30 > 20:00 for prayers only.
Those attending must:
• perform ablution prior to arriving (as our washroom and toilet facilities are closed);
• bring a face-covering, prayer mat and a bag for your shoes.
Friday Jum’a prayers must be booked in advance here.

A BRITISH MOSQUE FOR
THE 21ST CENTURY
Learn more about the Mosque’s commitment to sustainability through its architectural design, featuring advanced technology that gives it a near-zero carbon footprint, and honouring natural forms and materials with its forest-like vaulting.
The Mosque draws on traditional designs and updates them with cutting-edge technologies, prioritising environmental concerns and setting new standards for British mosques.
With everything from solar panels and grey water harvesting to state-of-the-art heating and cooling technology, it is a pioneer in ‘green deen’, reminding us of our connection to nature.
The Islamic gardens at the Mosque’s entrance invite peaceful contemplation, offering a fragrant reminder of Paradise amid the bustle of the city. A calm oasis within a grove of trees.
