Eid-ul-Fitr Confirmation and Advice

Eid-ul-Fitr Confirmation and Advice

Eid-ul-Fitr is confirmed for Sunday 24th May 2020.

The Mosque remains closed due to the pandemic situation. While the general rule is that Eid Salah should be prayed in a large congregation, and preferably outdoors, given current circumstances we encourage members of our congregation to observe all of the Sunnas of Eid (e.g. eating a light breakfast, wearing one’s best garments, saying the takbīrat after Fajr prayer, etc.) and also recommend praying the Eid Salah at home with one’s family as a household, without a Khutba.

The Mosque will be broadcasting an Eid Khutba online at 10:00am (BST) on the day of Eid. Please visit our Live Media page to tune in.

Zakat-ul-Fitr (Fitrana) is £5 per person for 2020 in the UK. Please donate Zakat-ul-Fitr here before the day of Eid.

The Muslim Council of Britain has also issued useful guidance regarding how to celebrate Eid safely, subject to the lockdown measures in place.

May Allah accept everyone’s fasting!
