On Saturday 07 December, the Mosque held its first Community Open Day in conjunction with this year’s Mill Road Winter Fair.
Hundreds of people attended throughout the day to explore Cambridge’s first purpose-built Mosque. Many entered the prayer hall to observe the recitation and interpretation from the Qur’an by Imam Ali Tos and Imam Sejad Mekić. Demonstrations of the call to prayer (Adhan) were also carried out by Imam Ali.
Visitors were able to enjoy guided tours inside the Mosque, the Islamic Geometry Workshop run by artist Sharmina Haq, and also view the brand-new Islamic Science Exhibition, presented by Dr Taha Yasin Arslan.
The Mosque would like to thank all those who came to visit on the day. Special thanks to all the hard-working volunteers and staff who helped to make the event a huge success!
